Notes from a benighted country

We will have to wait until early next week to see what the idiots who govern us will start to come up with. I much prefer a clear exposition as to where we are so that my idea of a policy approach is bordering at least upon QED.
However, there seems little chance that Burnham will devise any policy initiatives that can be respected and are the more so because within budgetary constraints. I understand that gilts are off this morning - presumably in the belief that Burnham will want to have a go at selling some more.
One bright thought is that since Kemi has done well in Scotland people may be sobering up. I like Kemi.
Saturday at Royal Ascot week used to be known as Ascot Heath day and morning suits were not sensible. But people like using the coats they have so expensively hired for the week and thus Saturday is now part of the royal meeting. That said, today would not be comfortable with all this heat around.
