My guess is that if a vote were taken this business of putting clocks back and hour and six months later putting them forward would cease.


Entirely separately HM Treasury want to charge Inheritance Tax to estates affected after they have received the Factor 8 compensation - possibly £1m or more. Thus the state has delayed payments such that those due the compensation could never spend it or give it away when just such developments could have been sensibly attended to had HM Treasury got on with matters and paid out.
